Our installation at Co-operative Bank, Nairobi CBD demanded all three.
Located at the heart of the city’s financial district, the branch operates at a pace that leaves no room for disruption. That meant one thing for us: the work had to happen at night—after staff had left, systems were shut down, and the building fell silent.
Night installations come with a different set of challenges.
No noise. No margin for error. No second chances.
Every movement had to be deliberate. Tools were selected not just for performance, but for silence. Cuts were planned in advance, layouts rehearsed, materials staged so that once work began, it flowed smoothly and quietly. In an environment where even a dropped tool would echo, attention to detail wasn’t optional—it was essential.
For this project, Quick-Step Burley Oak 040 was selected—an oak finish that strikes a careful balance between warmth and professionalism. In a corporate banking environment, flooring must do more than look good; it must communicate stability, confidence, and longevity.
The subtle grain and natural tones of Burley Oak brought warmth to the space without distracting from its purpose. Clean, calm, and timeless—exactly what the environment called for.
Working overnight also meant working against time. Every shift had a clear window. The floor had to be completed, cleaned, and ready before morning operations resumed, with zero trace of construction left behind.
Subfloor preparation, alignment, expansion gaps, and finishing details were all executed under these constraints—quietly, methodically, and without compromise.
By morning, the transformation was complete.
A seamless, professional finish that feels solid underfoot and visually composed—exactly the kind of result that doesn’t draw attention to itself, but quietly elevates the entire space. Staff returned to a refreshed environment without disruption to their workday, and the bank gained a floor built to handle heavy daily traffic with ease.
